Housefarm
Our loss of connection with where our food comes from has led to a lack of empathy for the journey our food takes from soil to plate, ground to sky, in and beyond Singapore.

Housefarm aims to promote and encourage consumption of local produce by educating and engaging the public in the early stages of our food cycle, utilising dynamic movement and in-between spaces to stimulate the senses, tying back to the visitor’s gastronomic experience. It combines both traditional and urban methods of farming to supply local produce in its in-house restaurant, kitchen workshops and other local aviation catering facilities.
Site Information
Location: Former Seletar Passenger Terminal Building
557 West Camp Rd

Target Users:
Workers from the surrounding Aerospace Park, families and foodies.

Food systems are highly energy intensive in Singapore, and there is a lack of focus and initiative done to alleviate carbon emissions during production and transportation of food by the aviation F&B industry.

Creating a public space within an urban agriculture backdrop, visitors can directly engage and follow their food from soil to plate, farm to table.

Kitchen Workshop
To educate and engage people of all ages in understanding the processes of our food, using ingredients directly picked from the adjacent edible gardens.

Edible Garden Bridge
Open for visitors to learn, interact and care for a variety of edible greenery along transitional, in-between spaces.

Restaurant
A testbed for aviation catering companies to roll out new plant-based in-flight menus, bridging innovation in the industry closer to the public.

Rest & Recreation
A space for workers from the nearby aviation park to de-stress, enjoying a scenic combination of an edible landscape and the Seletar airfield.
